CNED and UTM establish a partnership for developing professional skills in the field of sustainable energy
28th of July 2026, Chisinau – National Centre for Sustainable Energy (CNED) and the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) have signed a collaboration agreement, through which they establish a partnership for promoting the energy efficiency, developing the renewable sources of energy, and strengthening the professional skills in the field of sustainable energy in the Republic of Moldova.
Through this collaboration, CNED and UTM aim to contribute to training and improving the specialists in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sources field, to promoting the applied research and innovation, and also to developing technical solutions adapted to the necessities of the energetic field.
An important element of the partnership represents the development of instruction and continuous training for the specialists from the field of energy efficiency, including energetic auditors, energetic managers, energetic evaluators, and other professionals from the field. Moreover, CNED and UTM will collaborate on updating the study programs, and integrating some relevant skills for the actual demands of the energy and energy efficiency field.
“The transition towards a durable energy system requires not only investments in the infrastructure and modern technologies, but also well-prepared specialists, capable to implement these solutions. The collaboration with the Technical University of Moldova will contribute to developing the human capital, and strengthening the expertise in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy”, stated CNED’s director, Ion Muntean.
“Through this partnership we will contribute to integrating the education, research and innovation, offering the students and specialists opportunities to develop the required skills for the new challenges from the energy field”, stated UTM’s dean, Viorel Bostan.
The partnership supposes also the joint organization of trainings, conferences, round tables and workshops, establishing of specialty materials, such as guides, methodologies and studies, also the promotion of exchange of experience and the technological transfer.
A joint field of interest represents the use of modern measuring and analyzing technologies, including the LiDAR technology, for evaluating the potential of renewable sources of energy, and developing of solutions based on data for the energy field.
